Benchmarks

A Benchmark is a composite of the abilities, interests, and personality traits of successful people in a specified job. The Benchmark is used to assess the suitability of candidates seeking that job or current employees seeking a promotion or transfer to that job. We recommend a benchmark for all the critical positions in a company. The recommended method of constructing a Benchmark is to select Top Performers in each job as selected by management. These employees complete the Prevue Assessment and their results will be utilized to identify the appropriate Benchmark. This process very clearly identifies the traits of the Top Performers and establishes effective Benchmarks for future human resource decisions.

Custom Benchmarks are powerful representations of the position requirements and complement other processes such as competencies and job outlines. Benchmarks should be reviewed and refined every 15 months to reflect changing strategies and performance of people in the position.
